Mini Pirates Cheerleading and Dance Clinic-

September 13, 2008

The Pirates cheerleading and dance clinic is open to boys and girls pre-school -8^th grade. The clinic will run from 10am-12pm with a performance later that evening at our first home football game at 7pm. The cost is $20 per child with a $5 discount per additional child from the same household.  The cost of the clinic will include a t-shirt and snack. Registration deadline is September 5^th for a guaranteed t-shirt. Additional t-shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis.  You may contact Coach Leach by phone, 620-332-5414, or e-mail tleach@indycc.edu to register.

The ICC Spirit Squads have been cleaning out our closets and we’ve found several retired uniforms and other Pirate memorabilia! We will be selling our old uniforms and poms at our clinic on September 13th as well as home football games! Make sure to pick up your Pirate gear soon! It is going quickly!

Please help the Spirit Squad show Pirate Pride and help them make their way to state, regional and national competitions this spring! The ICC cheer and dance team will be selling Pirate Country walkway stones for $20 at home football and basketball games. Orders can be taken at games or by contacting Coach Leach. (Turn around time is about 2 weeks)

Spirit Squad Tryouts-

Tryouts for the 2009-2010 Pirate Spirit Squads have been set for April 24, 25, 26th! All incoming freshman, transfers and current students are encouraged to tryout for the teams! Tryout requirements and details will be updated shortly!  Athletic Scholarships are available!

Due to lots of interest,  dance team tryouts have been pushed back from August 28-29^th to September 4^th and 5^th! We are looking for girls who preferably have prior dance experience! Please contact Coach Leach if you are interested in trying out for the dance team!

We are also looking for anyone interested in being the Pirate mascot at home football and basketball games! If you have a fun, creative and outgoing personality, this job is for you! Contact Coach Leach for details!

Public Appearances and Charity Events-

 The Pirate Spirit Squads are eager to give back to the community and we’ll be out helping those in need! Our first event will be the 1^st Annual Yona Julian 5k on September 6th at the Independence Park! We would love for everyone to join in on this event and make it a success!

September 20^th our team will be holding a fundraiser for childhood cancer called Alex’s Lemonade Stand! We have recipes for seven different kinds of lemonade so there is sure to be something for everyone! For more information about Alex’s Lemonade Stand, please visit www.alexslemonade.org
