Seth Bell, Head Athletic Trainer
Seth Bell begins his first year as the head athletic trainer at Independence Community College. Prior to his arrival at ICC, he was part of the athletic training program at East Central University in Ada, Okla., for one semester, whereh e was responsible for the rehab program for the men’s and women’s cross country and basketball programs. He had originally worked at Bethany College from 2009-12 as a student athletic trainer, where he worked with a variety of different sports including men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, baseball, softball and volleyball. He returned to Bethany in the spring of 2013 as an intern. A member of the National Athletic Trainer Association, Bell has plenty of athletic training experience, working at the Kansas Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament and NAIA Men’s Basketball Conference Tournament as well as national college and high school cheer and dance competitions. He has also served as a volunteer for the Salina Bombers Professional Indoor Football Team.
Sarah Plowman, Assistant Athletic Trainer
Sarah Plowman enters her first year as assistant athletic trainer at Independence Community College. A former athlete in the Lady Pirate basketball program from 2008-10, Plowman returns to Independence after working as a resident assistant at Washburn University in Topeka. She was the Washburn student representative at the I-Lead Leadership National Athletic Trainers’ Association Student Conference. She was in charge of setting up coordinator for football on game days and overseeing younger athletic training students at Washburn. She also coordinated a sports performance program for youth baseball and was involved in volleyball, basketball and dodgeball through intramural programs at the university. Plowman is a current member of the Kansas Athletic Trainers Society (KATS) and Student Athletic Trainers Society (SATS).
