Day of Dance will be capped off in style with the third
annual “Dancing with the Indy Stars” competition,
featuring local couples performing choreographed numbers
for seated judges. The evening event also will be
conducted at the Civic Center and will include an hors
d'oeuvres reception and other entertainment. The
competition will be designed much like the popular
“Dancing with the Stars” television show, with
professional lights and sound, and awards will be
presented based on the judges’ scoring. Guests also will
have the opportunity to vote for a “People’s Choice”
winner.
The competition is co-sponsored by the Mercy Hospital
Foundation and Independence Community College Foundation
as a fundraiser for special projects. Proceeds will
benefit the expansion of the Mercy Hospital Cancer
Center and the ICC scholarship program. Tickets for the
dance competition are $20 per person and the event
capacity will be limited to 200 guests. RSVP's are
required.
