Development Course Progression
Purpose of Developmental Studies
The Developmental Studies Program is
offered to guide, support, and
facilitates the success of those
students who may benefit from our
services. The department will
provide basic reading, writing, and
math courses. We encourage students
to take ownership of their academic
achievements. Each student must
accept responsibility and
accountability for his/her academic
performance.
Basic
Writing
(BW) and Basic Reading Techniques (BRT)
may be taken concurrently. BW and
BRT may not be taken concurrently
with English Comp. Prep. If
required, BW and/or BRT must be
passed prior to enrolling in
Developmental Composition Prep.
Developmental courses must be passed with a “C” or better
prior to advancing to the next
level.
