Dr. James Henderson completed his Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Henderson directed the University of Texas Women’s Chorus from 2004 to 2008, the Tarrant County College SE Concert Chorale from 2009 to 2012, the Tyler Junior College choirs from 2012 to 2017, and was Artistic Director of the Deep Ellum Chorus in Dallas, Texas from 1992 to 1993. At TCC and TJC, he was also Instructor/Professor of Voice and Music Appreciation. He has served as Director of Music and pianist at various churches and parishes in the states of Oklahoma and Texas for over twenty-nine years. In addition to his church work, Dr. Henderson has fielded and taught a private voice studio for many years. James has sung under the direction of David Davidson and Maestro Andrew Litton with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and under Dr. James Morrow at UT Austin. He studied voice with Judy Springfield and Jack Pearson.
